Until a few months ago I had stopped at 5x320# on Back Squats. Why? I don't really know. It was not a conscious decision; I just wasn't going any higher. Maybe a part of me was saying, "That's strong enough". Maybe I was just being lazy. But the obvious fact is that I was capable of more if I was willing to put it out there. I've been going up 5# every month, and today I did 5x340#... on a day when I was pretty fatigued. And I can tell there is more left in the tank. So take a moment to look at … [Read more...] about Are your limits real or self-imposed?

Hip position. In all … [Read more...] about Sit right!
Deadlifts don’t lie.

And nothing does a better job of developing that kind of strength than Squats and Deadlifts. Don't be fooled by flashy "speed/explosive" training. If your athlete doesn't have a strength foundation built on heavy barbell work, they are not reaching their … [Read more...] about Deadlifts don’t lie.
